Environmental responsibility and management 

Twinza recognises that the nature of our operations carries inherent environmental impacts and risks. We are committed to avoiding or minimising these by integrating environmental management practices into our design and execution of activities.

Twinza’s approach is guided by a systematic framework on key environmental areas, including:

  • Emissions and air quality,

  • Discharge and waste management,

  • Water resource management, and

  • Biodiversity protection.

Through proactive planning, continuous monitoring, and responsible operations, Twinza aims to uphold high environmental standards and contribute to sustainable development across all project phases.

Climate and energy 

Twinza recognises that climate change is a critical global challenge requiring urgent and sustained action to transition to a lower-carbon future. Twinza is committed to identifying and managing climate-related risks and opportunities in a way that supports our objective to sustainably deliver superior returns to shareholders.

As a producer of natural gas, LPG and condensate, fuels that emit carbon dioxide when combusted, Twinza is acutely aware of the need to balance the benefits of providing cleaner energy, and supporting economic growth for Papua New Guinea with the environmental and social impacts associated with our operation.

To address this, Twinza is adopting an energy transition strategy that outlines how the Pasca Project will contribute to:

  • Lower-carbon energy production,

  • Expanded access to clean cooking solutions,

  • Carbon capture opportunities, and

  • Inclusive economic development in PNG.

In particular, the production of LPG is expected to reduce costs and improve access to cleaner energy across Papua New Guinea. Promoting LPG-powered cooking as an alternative to wood-fuelled stoves can significantly reduce exposure to harmful smoke and free up time gathering firewood - delivering both health and social benefits.
